Have you ever known any one to succeed that doesn’t push themselves? We can’t grow if we stay in a fixed mindset. It is only when we are open to a growth mindset that we evolve to something extraordinary. 

Joan Garfield states in “How Students Learn Statistics” “Students do not necessarily learn by having us explain to them how to solve a problem.” We all can give our opinion to others on “how to solve their problems” and push past their limits, but it is the individual that has to WANT to push past their limits, and that is where growth comes in. 

I set a goal for myself to expand my editing techniques and place it into a contest. I was very proud of what I created and how far I had come.  I was 2 points away from a Bronze award. I had to pay extra for feedback, and wanted it so badly, but cost wise, I had to hold back.  Now many of you advanced PS editors are thinking; “Whoa, she should’ve done this” or “I would’ve done that”. I’m open to feedback, but not criticism. Because its only through honest feedback can we grow and push ourselves forward. 

I was hoping for at least a silver, but I got nothing. I was frustrated for just a little bit after seeing others work, and said to myself; “I did my best, I’m proud of what I created and I will not stop pushing myself to get better.”  I know I can place it in other contests, get honest feedback and win. But, this is my piece of work, I am proud of it and I am fine with not placing it in other contests. I will wait for the next piece of art I work on to send it in. 

My dreams are endless. My goal is to have a studio to create some incredible photography, and water portraits are one of them.  I would also love to have my own inground pool to do some underwater photography. My style doesn’t stop at one stage, I keep thinking how I can advance myself to the next level. 

I had the opportunity to go to a Photography Event in Arizona and learn about some incredible techniques on indoor water studios. It was very fascinating, and again, I had no limits, my limits are endless and I am willing to push myself forward to new heights. 

Bruce Lee once said; “If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”

I have created an Elegance Magazine. It started as Britney J Photography and now I have gone back to Sassy Mama Photography. I absolutely proud of what I have accomplished. I have won awards, and my work has touched my clients lives. I will not stop with what I love to do most and that is showing the beauty my clients have inside and out. My dedication keeps pushing my self to new heights and the next level. I can’t wait to see what I achieve next!  

Don’t give up on your dreams and what you desire to achieve and succeed at.
